Late adopters, known as “technology laggards,” are skeptical of emerging technologies and innovation. Typically, they only take part in modern technology if they have to. However, contrary to their name, technology laggards are essential in advancing technology forward.
The Forbes Technology Council interviewed a panel, including Patrick Emmons, Founder and CEO of DragonSpears, to provide insight on why technology laggards are crucial to innovation. Emmons said that laggards exist at every level of the economy, including within silos of an organization. “The laggards are the portion of the organization that makes the `today’ money,” which is necessary so that organizations can “invest in creating `tomorrow’ money,” he added.
